Very familiar to me but will you hold my beer? I am (was) a long time runner who birthed a 6 pound 8 ounce baby boy at the age of 40. Labored for 8 hours and pushed for 30 minutes. Tiny episiotomy that didn’t hurt, so the nerve damage must already have been done.

It took a few years, but the first thing to show up for ME was FECAL incontinence. Peeing is definitely bad, but pooping? Just from walking around during your normal day?

Eventually, my rectum prolapsed, falling outside my damned bunghole! That, ladies and gents, is the definition of demoralizing!

A great surgeon in Reno Nevada by the name of Matthew Crapko (fitting, yes?) pushed it all back inside and tacked it back into place. We don’t know if years of running caused it, or what. I am fit, a normal weight and have good muscle tone.

The UI came later, and also required surgery. I hear that in France they automatically give new mothers pelvic floor exercises.
